Couple arrested for peddling drugs in Kulgam | KNO

Srinagar, January 07 (KNO): Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a couple for peddling drugs and recovered contraband substance from their possession. “During naka checking at Akhran Bridge Mirbazar, Qazigund police arrested a couple identified as Sabzar Ahmad Rather @Raja son of Abdul Salam Rather resident of Mallipora Devsar and his wife (name withheld) for peddling drugs,” police spokesman said in a statement issued to KNO. Police has recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession, adding that Qazigund Police registered a case FIR NO 02/2019 under relevant section of law and initiated investigations in the matter. Reportedly, the couple is involved in sale of synthetic drugs at large scale to the local youth of area.(KNO)
